Frequently
Asked Questions - Expectations and a Hassle free Trip
|
| |
| What
can I expect on my trip? |
| Do
Not leave home with any expectations or pre conceived ideas
of a place you wish to visit, or what you'd "expect"
from your trip. |
| Expectation
is an obstacle to your happiness ! |
| "Thou shalt not take anything
too seriously
for a carefree mind is the beginning of
a fine vacation. " |
| You
left home to find things different
.., |
|
"Thou shalt not expect to find things
as thou hast them at home ... for thou hast left thy home
to find things different. "
|
| Let
the experience of the day be a part of your trip. If you haven't
already an overall view of the timeline of Europe's evolution
we recommend reading Europe 101 by Rick Steves and Gene Openshaw
so you gain some basic knowledge and understanding. Then David
and Mona might make more sense in the big picture. |
| "Thou shalt not judge the
people of a country by the one person with whom thou hast had
trouble. " |
Remember those working
in hostels are real people too! Bring some sunshine and excitement
into their lives, rather than expect them to lighten your day
if it has been stressful.
Treat their hostels and homes with respect, they live there
all the time, and sure you might only be there for 1 or 2 nights,
but your consideration will keep them there for the next intrepid
traveler or for any return trips you might make. |
| "Remember thou art a guest
in every land
and he that treateth his host with respect
is treated as an honored guest. " |
| How
do I have a hassle free trip? |
Your attitude will
be the deciding factor here, along with a little "go with
the flow" sense of being.
Do not try to control all situations, see what you can learn,
or those you meet because of delays etc.
There's always another day and plane tickets can always be changed
be adventurous. |
| "Thou shalt not worry. He
that worrieth hath no pleasure, few things are ever fatal. " |
