Frequently Asked Questions - Reservations and Prices

Do I need to make reservations for a hostel?
In peak season (mainly summer and Christmas time) we would suggest you do phone ahead.
Some hostels require you to book online. This facility is available to you directly on each individual hostel site or dedicated websites like HostelWorld.com.
Smaller hostels that don't necessarily have online booking facilities may require you to phone them anyway just so they know to look out for you and to know of your time of arrival.
Be sensible about arriving at a hostel by a decent hour, as some hostel receptions are not open 24hrs a day. This is for your own safety.

Prices ? What is dorm/double low and dorm/double high price?
As each individual hostel has many rates for different room types, on BackpackingEurope.com we mention the lowest possible dorm/double price that you can pay (some conditions may apply) and the highest possible dorm/double price, so that you can budget your trip easier.
Each hostel owner has access to the BackpackingEurope.com site so should there be any price variations on your arrival to a hostel you will need to deal with this directly with the hostel in question.
